End Of A Romantic Story

The world spun in circles as we laid on the ground sharing our last kiss together. Tears rolled off her cheeks and landed on my own tear stained cheeks.
“I love you.” She pulled back and whispered. Her eyes were red and puffy, her blue eyes barely visible through her partially closed, waterlogged eyes.
“I love you more.” I whispered back. It was getting harder and harder to speak as I became weaker. The poison continued eating at my body, it was almost time to die. My heart ached. How cruel is god to do this to me now? I finally found her, the girl of my dreams, the girl I had always looked for, but never had been able to find. Brought together by chance, torn apart by fate.
Red-hot pain shot through my lungs and heart, and I wasn’t sure if it was physical or emotional. I tried focusing on something, anything else to take my mind off the pain. I realized that I couldn’t feel my legs or the tips of my fingers. My jaw started to shiver. Though my insides felt as if they were burning, I felt as cold as death.
“Hold my hands, I am cold.” I said. Her hands silently slipped into mine as she brought her body closer to mine. Her body felt like a hot fire burning at my skin, but I didn’t say anything, I just wanted to be closer to her. It was just heat, just pain, it would pass, but so would she.
I wanted to laugh, I wanted to cry, I wanted to do something, but my body wouldn’t allow it anymore. I had a lump in my throat that just wouldn’t leave, and a laugh in my heart that I wouldn’t be able to share. She was the little spoon. I wanted to tell her, make her smile, hear her laugh one last time, but I couldn’t find the strength.
Her head was resting on my chest, listening to my heart slowly count down the seconds. She lifted her head and forced a smile, “You’re the big spoon.” She laughed, but she quickly fell back into tears as she buried her face into my chest. I tried to smile, I tried to do anything, but once again it was useless. She lifted her head one last time, and kissed me on the lips.
“This isn’t the end.” She whispered, and then I remembered no more.
